Easy Come Easy Go
When was the last time we heard from Great Lake Swimmers? I can’t for the life of me remember for myself, and I’m not actually able to investigate the matter due to some technical complications with my internet connection (and it will be a wonder if this post ever sees the light of day at all), but it certainly feels as if it’s been ages since the Toronto outfit has made any noise.
If you’re feeling this way too, then it might interest you to know that the band’s got a new album waiting to drop early this spring. New Wild Everywhere is due out April 3 via Nettwerk, and until then you can bide time with the first teaser “Easy Come Easy Go.” While the band traditionally has taken to unusual locations like churches and castles to record its songs, New Wild Everywhere marks their first time setting up shop in an actual recording studio, and the results can be heard all over the first track, with its crystalline guitars and crisp, snappy percussion.
