Fire
There’s been a lot of rumbling from the Yukon Blonde camp lately about the possibility of a new record coming down the pipes. Turns out, there was a bit of truth in those rumours, as last week the band announced a brand new EP, Fire//Water, due out September 20 via Nevado. A full-length is scheduled to follow sometime in 2012.
The first of four tracks from the EP, “Fire,” has already been released, and in typical Yukon Blonde fashion its a good-natured, chipper number, rich with sounds and effects pulled out of the 1970s and vocal harmonies that rival even the best of Fleet Foxes. It’s a good teaser for what the band will be up to for the remainder of the year, which also includes an impressive run of North American tour dates, which you can check out here.
