Lightweight
Continuing on the theme from yesterday, here’s yet another band that I’ve really dug for some time, but for whatever reason didn’t put them up on the blog. Vancouver’s Apollo Ghosts did an admirable job of working their way around the blogosphere with their Mount Benson LP, so I don’t really have an excuse for not featuring them until now. But here they are, with a shiny new 7″ called Money Has No Heart for you to be listening to. And you don’t really have an excuse to not be listening to it, since the band has decided to give the whole thing away for free on their Bandcamp page.
Money Has No Heart is a punchy five-track record, with no songs even making it over the two minute mark. “Lightweight” clocks in at the longest, and it’s an innocuous little garage-jam piece that bounces the same few lines back and forth right ’til the end, as fun and as loose as anything that the band has put out thus far.
